Disney Social Media Moms Celebration: A Fly On The Wall

This is a sponsored post. But as always, all opinions, whether you agree with them or not, are my own. 😉Special thanks to Janice Croze of 5minutesformom.com for the awesome cover picture.

“To be a fly on the wall…” I’m not exactly sure exactly who came up with that expression. I actually despise flies. So, for me to embrace this idiom is a major compliment. And it was an incredible experience to be a fly on the wall inside Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. I am sure you are wondering how that happened. So I’ll ask and answer the questions for you.

What Is Disney Social Media Moms Celebration (DSMMC)?

Disney Social Media Moms Celebration is a weekend long, invitation-only blogger conference/press event/family vacation presented by Disney Parks. Social media influencers from across the country are invited to participate in this exclusive event held over Mothers Day Weekend at the most magical place on earth.

Who Attends Disney Social Media Moms Celebration?

Bloggers, social media, and online influencers who are parents and love Disney. I know, it’s called the Social Media Moms Celebration, but there were a handful of dad bloggers there too. And everyone brings their family along for the fun.

Why Would I Want to Attend Disney Social Media Moms Celebration?

This is the ultimate brand experience for a blogger. Not only do you get to visit the Disney Parks with your family in a way you likely never have before, but you are able to learn from and connect with major brands looking partner with mom bloggers. Hanes, Pampers, American Tourister and Alamo were on the list this year, just to name a few. And the swag is unbelievable. You will also be provided sneak peeks and exclusive events, like the pre-release viewing of Finding Dory and Alice Through the Looking Glass.

How Do I Get Invited to Disney Social Media Moms Celebration?

There is no magic potion or pixie dust answer to this question. But I will share with you what I plan to do to be invited in the future. Become an online influencer. (Check) Connect to the right people and online groups, including the Disney Social Media Moms Alumni & Hopefuls Facebook Group. (Check) Follow the Disney Parks Blog. (Check) Write about Disney. (Check) Be a mom. (Double Check) There is no real answer to this question. But I knew you were thinking it, so I had to let you know.

So How Did You Get To Be A Fly On The Wall?

I write about my #superkids here often. This year, Olivia was awarded the Dream Big Princess, Empowerment Award for starting the I Can Be Girls Confidence Conference. It was presented to her during the conference. As a perk, I was allowed to attend the conference activities like the other influencers do.  And it was awesome.

I should mention that while the experience is well worth it, Disney Social Media Moms Celebration is not free. There is a reduced cost for the experience, but attendees are first invited and then pay for their spot.  I’m saving up now for a future invite. You should too.

  2. I was there when Olivia got her award. So wonderful!!! I’ve been to this a few times and it’s always such a magical and inspiring event, and I love that I can bring the family along.

  3. Ahh, this is my dream. I just sent a request to the FB group. I go to Walt Disney World once a year and write about it a lot – both sponsored and organically. I will follow the blog too. My fingers are crossed for someday!

  4. I always wondered about that invitation. So far, none have fallen in my lap. Maybe someday! 🙂

Congratulations to your daughter — being recognized and rewarded for dreaming big is even better than a blog invite (at least in my opinion)! Keep dreaming, Olivia! We need big dreamers to change the world.

    1. You’re welcome, Hannah! I have to admit, before Olivia got the invite, I didn’t even know the conference existed. And I have a friend who works at Disney World. Now that I think of it, I’m mad at her for not telling me! LOL
